The President of Russia Vladimir Putin instructed Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev before the end of January to report on the creation of an airline with Russian aircraft to transport in the far East. It is reported TASS on Wednesday, January 15.
We are talking about passenger and freight traffic, according to the President’s instructions following the meeting with the government of 11 December 2019.
In November, the Federation Council member Ivan Abramov suggested to create a special regional carrier, with the aim of increasing the availability of tickets for the far East. According to the Senator, the government can afford to buy ten long-haul planes and to create a state-owned company that will not pay the huge lease payments.
In April, the Russian airline has received more than 2.5 billion rubles of subsidies for the provision of affordable flights to the far East. The funds allocated from reserve Fund of the government and distributed among the regions of the far Eastern Federal district.
Putin has repeatedly declared the advisability of preferences for airlines that serve the region.
