The President of Russia Vladimir Putin dismissed the government headed by Dmitry Medvedev, the press service of the Kremlin.
According to the presidential decree, Medvedev and his colleagues will fulfil the duties before formation of new government.
It is expected that the Prime Minister is the head of the Federal tax service Mikhail Mishustin. He agreed to the proposal go to this post in the near future his candidacy submitted to the state Duma. In the near future the Parliament will convene to approve a new Prime Minister.
15 January Medvedev announced the resignation of the government. According to him, the decision was made on the background announced by the President in address to the Federal Assembly of the planned amendments to the Constitution.
Putin thanked Medvedev for his work and said that he intends to appoint him to the post of Deputy Chairman of the Russian security Council, effectively his Deputy, as the head of the security Council is the President himself.
