The candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin responded to the idea of introducing in the country the so-called tax on the rich. According to him, at the moment, the transition to a progressive tax inefficient and irrelevant. His words brought the head of the Committee on civil society development Sergey Gavrilov, reports “Interfax”.
The MP said that this is due to the fact that now in the country about 20 million people whose income is less than subsistence minimum. “We have no middle class, no one to collect the progressive article”, — said Gavrilov. “The rich and super-rich should be solved differently greater transparency and greater responsibility,” he added.
Against the imposition of tax on the rich was expressed by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov. He called it pointless from the point of view of the economy and in the next few years is impractical. Siluanov believed that the Introduction of a progressive scale would complicate tax administration and weaken their collection.
