Belarus plans to resume negotiations with Russia on gas at the end of January. This was announced by the Belarusian Minister of energy Victor Karankevich in Minsk. His words leads to “Interfax”.
“There is enough gas, the gas is. Don’t worry, without gas our people will not remain”, — he stressed. The exact date of the talks, Karankevich have not yet named. Minsk intends to reduce the prices.
At the end of December 2019, the presidents of Belarus and Russia held talks on the supply of fuel. In the end of December 31, Gazprom and Belarus signed a Protocol on gas prices for January-February 2020 and amendments to the contracts for the transit and supply of fuel to extend them until 2021-th. Thousand cubic meters of gas for Minsk will cost $ 127.
Later in January, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expressed his dissatisfaction with the fuel prices. He believes that “Gazprom” profiting from Minsk. “”Gazprom” today Belarus earns three times more than in Germany. Is this normal? This is normal,” Lukashenka stated.
