In Russia recorded the first death from sucking tobacco (snus) on the background of the flash consumption of nicotine products. This was stated by chief freelance psychiatrist of the Ministry of health Yevgeny Bryun, reports RIA Novosti.
“This [flash consumption-nicotine candy] caused a lot of problems in the country, also appeared psychosis, have already appeared the first death. The government very quickly responded to this threat, a challenge. In some regions by strong-willed banned the sale of such substances, and it’s pretty cool,” said the psychiatrist. He did not specify neither the name nor age of the deceased.
In December, 2019 in the state Duma introduced a bill providing for a complete ban on the sale in any country of the sucking and chewing of products containing nicotine or its derivatives. In addition, Dmitry Medvedev, who was then Prime Minister, asked the interior Ministry to stop the sale nekulturny-nicotine products out of retail outlets and on the Internet. Snus he called the “rare stuff”.
Snus — one of securitising smokeless tobacco, its main component is nicotine, the content of which in one portion of snus about five times more than in one cigarette. Long-term consumption of securitising smokeless tobacco leads to cancer of the gum, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx and esophagus. Numerically tobacco may also contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases and occurrence of strokes in connection with the increase in blood pressure, constriction of blood vessels and heart rhythm disturbances.
