Russian investors associated with the manufacturer of the Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ100) — the company “Sukhoi Civil aircraft” (SCAC) — have set their sights on European airline. They are considering the possibility of buying the Slovenian Adria Airways, according to the state broadcasting Corporation of RTV Slovenia.
According to her, related to the GSS group of investors is going to take part in the auction for the sale of Adria Airways. The company is experiencing serious financial difficulties and is in the verge of bankruptcy.
According to a representative of potential investors Oleg Evdokimov, the future owners are interested in buying Adria Airways including due to the presence of her European license allowing you to fly from any airport in the European Union. In the case of a transaction GSS plans to put the SSJ100 200 of the company and thus to enter the European market.
It is noted that, in addition to the Russians, in a pool of investors represented by businessmen from the United Arab Emirates. However, they may have difficulties due to EU policies aimed at promoting domestic investment, they will have to attract European business. In particular, the aviation EU rules require that the shares registered in the Union airlines must be owned by European companies.
Last year GSS was about to put Adria Airways 15 SSJ100, but abandoned plans because of the difficult financial situation of the carrier.
