The most popular passwords the Russians were “I” and “Natasha”

The most popular in 2019, the passwords 123456 and qwerty steel, and combinations thereof (e.g. 1q2w3e). In the top of the most common among the Russians the Cyrillic codes were “I”, “password”, “QWERTY” and “Natasha”. This is reported by “Izvestia”, citing a study by cyber security DeviceLock.

Also in the top ten Cyrillic popular passwords included “love”, “Hello”, “love”, “Maxim”, “Andrew” and “sun”.

The study included nearly five billion pairs of usernames and passwords trapped in open access as a result of leaks of personal data. The largest plum has occurred in the services of MyHeritage (180 million) and Animoto (40 million) and also the app MyFitnessPal (49 million).

The newspaper’s source in the Bank said that the use of simple and common passwords shows low computer literacy of Russians.

In December it was reported about the most unreliable passwords. Among them were those that consist of simple combinations of digits (12345,111111,123321) or letter combinations that form a vertical or horizontal line on the QWERTY keyboard (asdfghjkl, qazwsx, 1qaz2wsx).
