Motorcycle racer from the Netherlands Edwin Straver survived clinical death after an accident on the 11th stage of the rally “Dakar”. It is reported by AD.
According to the newspaper, 48-year-old Strever lost control, crashed into a dune and broke a cervical vertebra. After the accident his heart stopped for ten minutes. Arrived on the scene, the doctors managed to resuscitate him. Straver was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Racer third time took part in the rally “Dakar”. His best result is a 30th place overall in 2019.
On January 12 the Portuguese Paulo Goncalves died at the “Dakar”. He lost control in the area between the dunes, fell from the bike and fell and received severe head injuries and body. The damage was fatal.
