The Russian foreign Ministry has promised not to change foreign policy after the change of government

Russia’s foreign policy will not change following the change of government. This was stated by Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, RIA Novosti reported.

“In the Russian Federation, foreign policy is determined by the President, and that says it all,” — said Ryabkov. In his view, this promise refers to the preservation of continuity in foreign policy.

Ryabkov added that the Russian course has a great reputation worldwide, and the international community respects the decisions of Moscow. The diplomat believes that Russia’s foreign policy is strengthening of its positions.

This promise, the Russian foreign Ministry gave after leaving the government to resign shortly after the message to the Federal Assembly President Vladimir Putin. In particular, has left his post as Minister of foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.

According to the Constitution, Lavrov will continue their work until the formation of a new government. Medvedev said he believes it was the right decision at the background of the catechumens by the head of state of proposals to change the Constitution.
