The office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine repeatedly appealed to the competent authorities of the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, France, Sweden and Iran with a request to establish a joint investigation team to investigate the crash Boeing 737-800 “Ukraine International airlines” (UIA) in Iran. The Prosecutor’s office said that Kiev insists on participation in the criminal investigation of the representatives of the six countries. At Wednesday, January 15, the Ukrainian government has sent similar requests in a number of States whose nationals died in the plane crash.
16 January it became known that Canada began its investigation of the crash of the Ukrainian “Boeing” near Tehran. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Canada françois-Philippe champagne said that the canadian side, as well as Ukraine, Afghanistan, the UK and Sweden hope for the full cooperation of the Iranian authorities to conduct a transparent investigation of all the circumstances of the crash of a passenger airliner near Tehran.
Boeing 737-800 UIA caught fire and crashed after taking off from Tehran airport on 8 January. Killed 176 people, including 11 citizens of Ukraine. 11 January, Iran admitted that the plane was shot down by mistake because of the “adventurism” of the United States.
