U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo praised the talks on Libya at the Berlin conference. He summed up the results of the meeting on his Twitter page.
Pompeo said that the dialogue was productive and added that he was focused on finding a political solution in Libya. The diplomat wrote that the United States supports the Libyan people in building a secure future. According to him, they also oppose foreign interference in state Affairs.
Earlier it was reported that the conference on Libya in Berlin agreed to terms of settlement of the situation in the country. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said they had agreed an embargo on arms supplies to the conflicting parties and the enhanced monitoring of the implementation of that decision.
International conference on Libya was held in Berlin on Sunday, January 19. In the event, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin talked with Merkel and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
