Former Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with channel one said the reasons for the resignation of his government. His words on Sunday, January 19, leads TASS.
Medvedev said that one reason was the time factor, and recalled that he held the post of Prime Minister for almost eight years. “It’s a great time. In the recent history of Russia that was [in] first time,” said the former Prime Minister, stressing that this was complex work associated with making difficult decisions. “It is also necessary to take into account,” he said.
Also, according to Medvedev, the government’s resignation is connected with new challenges for the political renewal of the country, which was designated in the message to the Federal Assembly President Vladimir Putin. “In order to make all these decisions, the President must be absolutely free to discuss them, and accept without regard to any other factors. Including the government,” — said the former Prime Minister.
Earlier, Medvedev said the resignation of the government a common event. According to him, this happens all over the world.
On 15 January the President of Russia Vladimir Putin dismissed the government headed by Dmitry Medvedev. As Prime Minister, the head of state has chosen the head of Federal tax service (FNS) Michael mishustina. Before the formation of the new Cabinet members of the resigned government will continue to perform their duties.
