Former Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Chaika has received an offer to become the presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal district. This was reported by press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, reports RIA Novosti.

According to the official representative of the Kremlin, formally, the corresponding decree has not been signed yet. Thus Chaika, learning about the decision of the Russian leader to send it to the North Caucasus, thanked the President for his proposal.

Currently, the post of presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal district is Alexander Matovnikov, who was appointed to this post in the summer of 2018.
