The head of Sberbank German Gref in an interview with CNBC predicted that the growth of Russia’s economy if well-managed will exceed 4 percent and will probably reach 6 percent, reports TASS.
According to Gref, he looks at the situation with optimism. Thus he responded to a journalist’s question about the possibility of a sharp acceleration of the Russian economy after the reforms.
If the most optimistic forecast Gref, GDP growth of Russia will be higher than the Chinese. According to the international insurance company Euler Hermes, the next two years the growth of China’s GDP, even if there will be another escalation in relations with the United States, will decline to a record low of 5.9 and 5.8 per cent. Other experts are also attuned to the slower growth of China’s GDP, which in 2019 increased by 6.1 percent.
Meanwhile, forecasts for Russian growth are still below 4 percent. So, the Bank of Russia expects acceleration to 2-3 percent in 2022, and the Ministry of economic development — 3.1% in 2021-m.
Foreign estimates are somewhat lower. Euler Hermes believes that the horizon of two years, the Russian economy will not go beyond the limits to growth 1.5 percent. Italian Bank UniCredit expects GDP growth to 1.4% only in 2021. The world economy, according to estimates of various foreign companies in the same period, will grow almost two times faster than the Russian.
Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin during his address to the Federal Assembly on 15 January, said that in 2021, GDP growth exceeds the world average. After his speech, the government resigned. A new Cabinet was formed on 21 January, it was headed by Mikhail Mishustin. The main task of the government he called the growth of the Russian economy.
