With the former territory of the Moscow plant of polymetals will remove the radioactive waste that threatened the environment and interfered with the construction of the South-East of the chord (UVH). Wrote about this in his blog, the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.

Studies that were carried out in a strip of branch of the future chords, revealed minor traces of pollution, not preventing the construction. However, the slope of the Moskva river experts have found radioactive patches.

In this regard, the city government plans to enter into a contract with FSUE “radon” for recultivation of the slope and removal of contaminated soil outside of the city. According to Sobyanin, this work will require huge costs. The mayor also promised to constantly monitor the environment during construction.

In the 50-60-ies in this area of the Moscow plant of polymetals store their waste. Later the territory in the backyard became a burial ground, gave the property of the city. The company takes no measures to eliminate, since the contaminated area is formally no longer his.

The decision to build the Southeast Expressway was made in 2018. The route length of 28 kilometers will be erected between the Entuziastov highway and the Warsaw highway. This area is home to approximately 2.5 million residents. “There are no reasonable alternatives to the construction of UWH there is simply no” — said Sobyanin.
