The UN has supported the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s summit with the leaders of the five countries that are permanent members of the security Council. This was reported by TASS Deputy of the official representative of the UN Secretary General Farhan Haq.
He said that the organization welcomes any suggestions for dialogue among the five permanent members of the UN security Council.
The world Holocaust forum on 23 January in Jerusalem Vladimir Putin proposed to organize a summit in 2020 with the participation of Russia, USA, China, UK and France. The Russian leader recalled that these countries had “a special responsibility for the preservation of civilization.” He believes that such a meeting could be held anywhere in the world.
The Russian President said that he had already discussed this idea with colleagues, and received positive responses. Putin’s initiative was supported by his French counterpart Emmanuel macron, and the British government was asked to provide more detailed information about the meeting.
