Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas suggested that the way to fight anti-Semitism in Europe. It is necessary to criminalize Holocaust denial in the European Union (EU), said the magazine Der Spiegel.
As noted by Maas, attempts to distort evidence about the Holocaust are observed worldwide, including in Germany. In the last six months in Berlin, recorded about five hundred anti-Semitic incidents. Almost every other Jew in the country is thinking about leaving her.
The head of the German foreign Ministry called on European countries to unite to fight anti-Semitism. For this, he said, should develop the overall plan, which will include measures to prosecute the offenders and educational work.
Earlier it was reported that in Germany noticed the growing hatred of Jews. As shown by the results of surveys conducted in the country, one in four Germans shares the anti-Semitic views, and 41% believe that Jews talk too much about the Holocaust.
