Russian expert, senior researcher at the Institute of Slavic studies Vadim Volobuev explained the requirement by Poland of compensation for historical grievances. He told this in an interview with RT.

“To complain about historical grievances is a long — standing position of the party “law and justice””, — he said. Volobuev added that Poland makes the same claim, Germany and Ukraine. Asked for money from Russia party, in his view, the liberation of Warsaw USSR is irrelevant. Judge urged to accept it as a natural phenomenon, as the debate with the party makes no sense.

Previously, on 25 January, the leader of the ruling Polish party “law and justice” Jaroslaw Kaczynski said Warsaw would like to receive monetary compensation for the damage in the Second world war, not only from Germany but from Russia. He stressed that the demands of his country in this matter “does not expire”, adding that he does not believe that will live up to that point.

In the Federation Council responded to the statement of the Polish policy. “Undignified, not serious acting Polish politicians, a disgrace to his country,” said Senator Sergei Tsekov. He reminded that Russia was restoring war-torn Poland, while hundreds of thousands of Soviet soldiers were killed liberating the country from fascism.
