The cause of the crash of US air force aircraft in the Afghan province of Ghazni became technical problems. This was stated by the representative of the civil aviation authority of Afghanistan Ghulam Masum, citing local TV reports TASS.
Masum said that a military aircraft crashed due to failed engine. According to him, the pilot tried to make an emergency landing at the nearest airport, but failed to do so. The staff of his Department “have been in contact with the pilot of the aircraft from the beginning of the problems on Board and guided him to the nearby airport”.
On 27 January it was reported that in Ghazni crashed airliner Ariana Afghan Airlines flying to new Delhi, but the airline denied this information. Later an anonymous American official said that the aircraft belonged to the US Armed forces — at the crash site identified Bombardier E-11A BACN, which is used as the air communication unit of the mountainous landscape.
The responsibility for what happened took on the Taliban. The U.S. side acknowledged the loss of the aircraft, however the representative of command of U.S. Colonel Sonny Leggett denied the involvement of the Taliban to collapse. According to him, the cause of the accident is being investigated.
