Prime Minister of Russia Michael Mishustin has increased social benefits and allowances from February 1 to three percent. The corresponding decree published on the government website.
The indexation will apply to benefits and compensation, required to veterans, disabled people, citizens with children under compulsory social insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases.
The document also applies to citizens affected by the Chernobyl accident at the production Association “Mayak”, from discharges of radioactive waste into the Techa river and after the nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk test site.
The increase in payments, allowances and compensations provided once a year from 1 February. It is calculated from the increase in consumer prices over the past year.
According to Rosstat, in 2019, the inflation in Russia fell to 3 percent. The day before, January 29, the Ministry reported that since the beginning of the 2020 prices in Russia grew by 0.4 percent in annual terms on January 27, the increase amounted to 2,489 percent. In the last two weeks inflation remains at zero.
