Microsoft’s revenue for the second quarter of the 2020 fiscal year were higher than anticipated. Journalists Softpedia have linked the increase of revenue with the end of support for Windows 7.
Quarterly revenues totaled 36.9 billion dollars, which is 14 percent more than last year. Net profit of 11.65 billion dollars, against of 8.42 billion a year earlier. It is noted that only one unit of More Personal Computing has brought us 13.2 billion.
According to the newspaper, the death of Windows 7 has proven to be advantageous for the Corporation because users began to purchase licenses of Windows 10. Softpedia refers to the chief financial officer of Microsoft, Amy Hood, who indirectly confirmed the cause of the quarterly success. “The OEM Pro revenue, which makes up about 40 percent of the total Windows revenue, rose 26 percent thanks to strong demand for Windows 10 ahead of the end-of-support Windows 7,” said hood. According to the CFO, Microsoft expects revenue growth of 10-11 percent by the end of the financial year.
