The investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) has asked Moscow’s Basmanny court to arrest former police officers of police at CJSC Moscow detained the journalist the Internet-editions Meduza Ivan Golunova. On Thursday, 30 January, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the court.
All five defendants were charged under three articles of the criminal code of the Russian Federation: 286 (“Excess of powers of office”), part 3 of article 303 (“Falsification of evidence and the results of operational-investigative activity”) and part 2 of article 228 (“Illegal drug trafficking”).
Yesterday it was reported that the planted Ivan Golunov drugs were stolen from police evidence.
29 January it became known that the TFR suspected of five former employees of the internal Affairs Directorate of CJSC Moscow in the purchase of drugs, which were then planted journalist Ivan Golunov. Was arrested Denis Konovalov, Akbar All, Roman Feofanov, Maxim Umetbaev, who worked in the Department for control over drug trafficking of the internal Affairs Directorate of CJSC, as well as the former head of this Department Igor lyakhovets.
14 January it was reported that Golunova recognized victim in the case of abuse of authority by police. The journalist was notified about the beginning of the investigation the senior investigator for particularly important cases of the major of justice O. S. Achiev.
Golunova was detained June 6, 2019 in Moscow, accused of attempted sale of drugs. Gross violations during his detention caused a public outcry. Activists gathered at the building of the Main Directorate of the interior Ministry in Moscow to demand the release of the reporter, many members of the media defended colleagues. June 11, 2019, the Minister of internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev has informed on closing of criminal case against the journalist Golunova and his release.
