The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan riaboshapka has criticized Iran for the lack of response and failure to provide Kiev assistance in obtaining physical evidence in the case of downed near Tehran Boeing 737-800 “Ukraine International airlines” (UIA). About it writes “Interfax-Ukraine”.
According to him, the Ukrainian authorities repeatedly sent official inquiries to the government and the Prosecutor’s office of Iran to participate in the investigation. Ryaboshapka stressed that Kiev has asked Tehran about the possibility of questioning involved in the crash individuals and also on the receipt of fragments of the liner.
“But the answers to all these questions we have not yet received, until we see the reaction from the Iranian authorities that would like to see,” said the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. He added that active cooperation with Ukraine in the investigation of the case is held by the countries whose nationals died in the plane crash.
“While there is no final result, but the draft agreement on the establishment of the group prepared, we gave it to the embassies of several countries, including Iran, to be able to work within the investigative team,” — concluded riaboshapka.
Boeing 737-800 UIA was shot down after taking off from Tehran airport early in the morning on 8 January. Killed 176 people, including 11 citizens of Ukraine. 11 January, Iran admitted that mistakenly attacked the plane.
