Ukraine has complained to the OSCE on the Russian mines in the Donbass

The Ukrainian delegation to the OSCE complained to the missions of participating countries to use the armed forces of the republics of Donbass prohibited by international conventions anti-personnel mines. About it reports “RBC-Ukraine”.

“These weapons of war with indiscriminate effect, killed and wounded mostly innocent and defenceless civilians, especially children. We emphasize that Ukraine is not a testing ground for Russia’s new weapons, no place to dispose of old,” said Deputy permanent representative of Ukraine to the international organizations in Vienna Ihor Losovsky.

The diplomat called for an immediate cessation of delivery, use of weapons and to remove all mines that were installed in the Donbass. While Losovsky was demonstrated to representatives of the OSCE mission mines production — Russian mon-50, PMN-2 and UM-2.

He added that the Special monitoring mission of the OSCE in January of this year, three reported finding banned by international conventions anti-personnel mines at the contact line in the Donbass.

On 16 January, the OSCE said that the main cause of civilian casualties in Eastern Ukraine — mines. The special representative of the organization, Heidi Grau noted that in 2019, the year the number of victims among the civilian population “declined significantly”.
