Ukraine refused again to leave the PACE for Russia



The delegation of Ukraine refused again to leave the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) after the majority of deputies supported a resolution Reaffirming the credentials of the delegation of Russia in full. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada Deputy from the party “European solidarity” Alexey Goncharenko, writes TASS.

According to him, Ukraine will not refuse from further participation in PACE because the Russian delegation. “Do not expect. You said you need dialogue — we are all for dialogue. Why would we leave if you want to engage in dialogue?” — said Goncharenko.

29 Jan PACE voted for the ratification of the credentials of the Russian delegation in full. For the return of parliamentarians from Russia all rights to vote of 96 deputies, 44 opposed, 7 abstained.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Elizabeth Jasko said that Ukrainian MPs are planning to cooperate with Russian colleagues. According to Yasko, with Russia you need to talk only within the framework of international law.

16 January Verkhovna Rada voted for a return of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE. In September of last year, Kiev has refused to participate in the autumn session of the Assembly. Prior to that, PACE returned to the powers of the Russian delegation, of which she was deprived of in 2014 due to the annexation of Crimea and the armed conflict in the Donbass.
