The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky asked the Secretary of state of the United States Mike Pompeo to appoint special representatives on issues of conflict settlement in the Donbass, and “de-occupation” of the Crimea, writes “Interfax-Ukraine”.

Zelenski said that a new officer has to appear in the U.S. Department of State. The Ukrainian leader did not explain what powers could have us official on specific issues.

During a joint briefing with Pompeo Ukrainian President also called for more active involvement of the United States in peaceful settlement of the conflict in the East of Ukraine and “de-occupation” of the Crimea.

Pompeo informed at a meeting with Ukrainian foreign Minister Vadim Pristayko said that Ukraine will receive from US full support “in the fight against Russian aggression”. Representatives of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry thanked the US government for maintaining sovereignty and help to strengthen the defense.
