At least ten people were killed in the riots in Kordai district of Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan. About it reports the edition “Khabar 24”.
Earlier, the Governor of the region Askar Myrzakhmetov said that the participants of the riots was a total of nearly a thousand people. 47 people were arrested, 44 released.
8 February it was reported that in one of the villages of Kordai district of Zhambyl region in southern Kazakhstan police pursuit behind the offender’s car ended in a mass brawl, pogroms and shooting. President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev called the incident a conflict between local residents who have used provocateurs.
However, according to media reports, clashes took place between local residents and police. In a press-service of the regional police Department said about the conflict with the “relatives of the driver who was detained for an administrative offense”. According to law enforcement officers chased the intruder, who stopped just in front of his house. His relatives had resisted the officers and pelted their car with stones, law enforcement officers were injured.
