Danish furniture retailer Jysk, which is a competitor of Swedish manufacturer IKEA and the Russian network Hoff, will open its first stores in Russia in April 2020. About this “Vedomosti” reports with reference to the representative of the company in Russia.
Outlets will appear in the shopping center “Troika”, and in one of the buildings commercial and industrial area “Altufevo”. First, they will be sold goods, which are most popular among European consumers — is mattresses, pillows, bed linen, home accessories. If Russian goods will be in demand, Jysk can extend the range. According to the representative of the Danish network, Jysk plans to sell products of medium price segment, as do IKEA and Hoff.
The current attempt to conquer the Russian market is already the third for the Danish network. Its first store in Russia, Jysk opened in 1996 on the franchise, however, the store closed two years later. The second attempt to enter the Russian market was made in 2005, but in 2007, the network was gone again from Russia.
Jysk is the largest furniture retailer in Denmark. Like IKEA, the network sells inexpensive furniture and home goods. Currently Jysk has 2.8 thousand stores in 52 countries around the world.
