In the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg twenty fishermen were on the ice. To save them MOE sent to the Gulf of Finland boat on an air cushion, according to “Fontanka”.
According to the publication, drifting on an ice floe fishermen opposite the Park of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg noticed and photographed an eyewitness. They were far from the shores after the ice has cracked. In a press-service of the city emergency management, the publication said that rescuers are trying to reach fishermen.
The publication notes that in St. Petersburg the prohibition of going out on the ice is valid till 15 Feb.
Earlier, the head of EMERCOM of Russia Evgeny Senichev proposed to recover from the fishermen on the ice floes of the cost of their salvation. “The prohibition of going out on the ice gives the right to raise the issue of how to bill for search and rescue, at least for lubricants. Moreover, at this time, forces and means involved in the rescue, may be needed for a real emergency situation,” he said.
