Mishustin allowed to grow cannabis and opium poppy

Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin signed the decision to lift the ban on the cultivation of narcotic plants — hemp and poppy sleeping pills. The corresponding document was published on the official portal of legal information.

Plants may be used for the production of tools used in medicine, industry and veterinary medicine.

The document also spells out requirements on the content of the volume fraction of drugs. In addition, for industrial purposes may not be used for sowing hemp seeds, which are cultivated for the fourth and subsequent times, and Mac second and subsequent reproductions.

Narcotic plants can cultivate only a legal entity, specifies “Interfax”.

On 19 June the state Duma adopted a bill on farming in Russia, cannabis and opium poppy for medical purposes. That’s right there in state-owned enterprises with a special license.

Prior to the law were allowed to grow narcotic plants for scientific, educational purposes and expert activities.
