The Ministry of health of the Kaliningrad region refused to remove the surveillance cameras from the offices gynecology after a complaint from a local resident Catherine Serebrennikova. About this Russian woman told RIA Novosti.
According to her, last autumn, by direction from the hospital she came to the antenatal clinic, where she was supposed to do an ultrasound of the pelvic organs. Undressed, the woman noticed a video camera in front of the couch, while about shooting her was not warned. Serebrennikov consulted with lawyers who said it was illegal, and on 11 October applied to the regional Ministry of health. “They responded quickly. The answer was that the consultation is a public place,” she said.
After that Serebrennikov has complained to the Prosecutor’s office, saying that illegal shooting is breaking the law on inviolability of private life, and demanded to dismantle the camera. The complaint was forwarded to the antenatal clinic. There the woman replied that they do not violate patients ‘ rights.
Previously the Investigative Committee began preliminary examination into the incident. The situation is put under control in the Central office of the Ministry.
