In Russia, the number of regions with the budget deficit for the year soared twice. Writing about it is owned by Grigory Berezkin the RBC, citing data from the Ministry of Finance on the execution of consolidated budgets of the constituent entities.
By the end of 2019 these regions were 35, while in 2018 they were 15. The total deficit of the regions at the end of last year is estimated at 233 billion.
The strongest deficit in the Moscow region and Moscow — 74,4 billion and 53.3 billion, respectively. At the same time these regions are the richest in Russia. Revenues of the Moscow region last year amounted to 739 billion rubles, Moscow — 2.6 trillion rubles. Also among the leaders in the deficit of the consolidated budget of Bashkiria (16.3 billion rubles), Sverdlovsk (14.2 billion) and Irkutsk region (13 billion).
Among the leaders in the budget surplus at the end of 2019 in Krasnoyarsk Krai (38 billion), Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (31,7 billion) and Krasnodar Krai (31.5 billion).
Most dependent on subsidies from the Federal budget are Tyva (on subsidies account for 54% of budget revenues in the region), Dagestan (52 percent), Chechnya (50 percent), Ingushetia (49 per cent) and the Republic of Altai (45 percent).
