Poland has demanded from “Gazprom” to give her the documents on the “Nord stream-2” for Antimonopoly investigations against the project. About it writes “Interfax” with reference to the Memorandum of the Russian monopoly, is devoted to the issue of new Eurobonds.
“Gazprom” has received notification from the Polish office for competition and consumer protection UOKiK January 15. In the past year, UOKiK has fined the French Engie for failure to provide similar documents for the investigation.
UOKiK initiated an investigation in respect of the financing of the project “Northern stream-2” in 2018. In the controller I believe that “Gazprom” Engie, Austria’s OMV, British-Dutch Royal Dutch Shell, Uniper and German Wintershall signed a financing agreement in order to circumvent the norms of European Antimonopoly legislation and the ban imposed by the regulator earlier.
We are talking about the decision in 2016, when UOKiK banned Gazprom and European partners to create a joint venture. The result was that the Russian monopolist remained the only shareholder of the project company Nord Stream 2. European companies have become creditors of the project. Although “Nord stream-2” and does not pass through the economic zone of Poland, the resolution of this country was necessary for the project in connection with EU legislation.
