The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky encouraged to create a program of Ukrainization of the youth of Donbass. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.
During the meeting, to provide young people living on the uncontrolled territories of Kiev Donetsk and Lugansk regions, opportunities for obtaining citizenship of Ukraine and facilitate the students in admission in Ukrainian universities, he instructed to develop an appropriate program. According to him, the Ukrainian government should fight for its citizens.
“We need to establish contact with civil people who are in the occupied territories and for one reason or another can not live on the territory controlled by Ukraine,” said Zelensky. He also added that he considers unacceptable the issuance of Russian passports to inhabitants of the region.
The meeting focused on proposals that could form the basis for future programs. In particular, the simplification of procedures for obtaining administrative services, the possibility of distance learning of the Ukrainian language and history of Ukraine, organization of “hot line” for entering to Ukrainian universities.
According to Zelensky, the measures must motivate the youth to receive Ukrainian education and to assist in the regeneration and future of life in the territory controlled by Kiev.
In the autumn of 2019, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov called the most important aspect of the reintegration of Donbass and humanitarian information policy, because “to return people need mental”. He also noted that the return of the region to the Ukraine will require a set of events.
