Vladimir Putinto: Eugene biyatov / RIA Novosti
Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to introduce in the country the concept of “parent №1” and “parent number 2” instead of “Papa” and “Mama.” He said this during the meeting with the working group on preparation of amendments to the Constitution, reports TASS.
According to Putin, this will not happen while he is President.
The Russian leader has already touched on this topic in November last year, he said during a meeting of the Council for interethnic relations hoped that Russia will never be replaced by the concept of “mother”. This practice, common in some Western States, was previously criticized by other representatives of the Russian authorities, in particular the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
The wording “parent №1” and “parent №2” is used e.g. in official documents in the United States since 2011. A similar practice exists in France, where “father” and “mother” were replaced with the same concepts in the school forms. The authorities of these countries explained the necessity of these changes in the increasing number of same-sex families.
