The Union of European football associations (UEFA) has taken the decision to remove Manchester city from European competition for two seasons. About it reports a press-service of the Union, reports TASS.
The reason for the removal was a violation of financial fair play. The statement said that the English club from 2012 to 2016 overstated their sponsorship income accounts and break even. In addition, Manchester city also was ordered to pay a fine of 30 million euros.
UEFA refused to comment on this issue to answer Manchester city. It is noted that the decision to dismiss may be appealed to the court of arbitration for Sport (CAS).
In 2019 Manchester city ranked fifth in revenues among all football clubs in the world. Club value was estimated at $ 2.7 billion.
