The Ministry of sports of Russia reacted to the disqualification of a biathlete Evgeny Ustyugov. A Ministry statement quoted by RIA Novosti.
In MST took into account the decision of the International biathlon Union (IBU). It is noted that the removal of Ustyugov also touches on his former teammates. “The WADA statement about the continued study of data obtained from the Moscow lab, give reason to believe that in the future there may be new examples of such disciplinary decisions”, — added in the Ministry.
On 15 February it became known that Ustyugov was convicted of using illegal drugs. The results of the Russians in the season of 2013/2014 was cancelled, which resulted in the deprivation of the gold medal of the relay at the Olympic games in Sochi. If the solution will not be able to contest, Anton Shipulin, Alexey Volkov and Dmitry Malyshko will also lose their status as Olympic Champions. In addition, the Russian team will lose first place in the medal standings of the Sochi Olympics.
