U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo had planned to hide his meeting with Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov during the Munich conference. It is reported by Politico.

The publication suggests that the American side clearly wanted to keep secret the very fact of the conversation. In particular, assistants Pompeo has not published any information on its completion. That such a meeting took place, it became known from the post in Facebook representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, from the Russian journalists.
A state Department official confirmed that Pompeo “stepped aside” with Lavrov, but gave no details. However, he denies that the American Agency has asked Russia not to publish information about the appointment.
