“The disease of milkers” moved to office workers. This was told radio Sputnik neurologist Yuri Andrusov.

The neurologist said that earlier tunnel syndrome was considered a professional disease of milkmaids. Now, however, the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome increases in those who spend several hours a day at the computer.

Office workers and video gamers harm their hands, the doctor noted. According to him, the load on the brush causes a thickening of the ligaments or tendons, which then put pressure on the nerve. “Now in the position of the hands when we hold the mouse, the nerve itself is exposed to from the ligaments. So we provoke carpal tunnel syndrome,” explained Andrusov.

The neurologist gave tips that will help avoid disease. It is suggested to use an orthopedic pad for computer mouse and keyboard as prevention. “Sometimes these cushions are made in the shape of the female breast. The point is that the arm rests on the cushion. At this time it is horizontal, and there is no pressure on the nerves,” added the doctor.

According to Andrusov, if you are experiencing pain in the hands, you should immediately consult a doctor. Otherwise, in his opinion, could end up the operation.
