Ukraine is ready to patrol Russian-Ukrainian border in the Donets basin, together with representatives of the OSCE and uncontrolled Kiev territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim pristayko, reports “UKRINFORM”.
He said that the idea of creation of joint patrols has been discussed from the very beginning of the Minsk talks. Pristayko said that this offer is sensitive because we are talking about participation in the patrols of the security forces of the breakaway republics of Donbass.
“We decide how to do so, given the experience, for example, Croatia — how to reach a decision in the first place to provide security on this territory. Perhaps by the time to hold elections”, — said the Ukrainian politician.
Earlier the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that the Ukrainian side is ready for joint control of the border in the Donbas to holding local elections. During the Munich security conference, he noted that he had raised this issue at the meeting, “Norman four” in Paris on 9 December.
12 Feb the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak told that there is a clear plan for elections in the Donbass in 2020. At the same time, he stressed the impossibility of the vote, while in the region are foreign military and illegal armed groups, and until Ukraine took control of the border with Russia.
