Russia is recognized as one of the world leaders in the field of cybersecurity, as well as the level of development of advanced technologies in the industry and public awareness. To such conclusion the experts who took part in the Week of safe Runet 2020, according to the website of the Russian Association for electronic communications (RAEC), with the support that held the forum.
According to experts, currently in the field of cybersecurity in Russia, you can select multiple macrotrends. In particular, as explained by the Director of RAEC Sergei plugotarenko, these include growing demand for intelligent security systems, a significant impact on the market regulatory initiatives and reduction of “entry threshold” in the cybercrime market. In addition, according to Plugotarenko, traced the change of the “paradigm of protection”: now the main task of system security is not preventing the attack, and as fast as possible its detection.
According to the Director of the RAEC, the most common methods of cyber attacks are malware in combination with social engineering methods. Most often from the actions of criminals suffer from state institutions, industrial companies and the financial sector, however, every fifth attack directed against individuals.
“Cyber criminals continue to exploit the ignorance of users in providing their own security,” said Plugotarenko. In these conditions especially important is increasing the level of digital literacy, which helps to protect citizens from criminals, he said.
Safe Runet week 2020 was held in Russia already in the 13th time from 11 to 18 February. It was organized by ROCIT, Russia, industry partners and relevant authorities.
