The President of the United States, Donald trump intends to personally sign an agreement with the Taliban (banned in Russia), which will lead to peace in Afghanistan. He stated this at a meeting with journalists before departure to India, reports TASS.
Thus the American leader has answered the question about the readiness to sign an agreement with the terrorists if possible. “I would put underneath your signature,” said trump. He believes that the Taliban are tired of war, and the citizens of Afghanistan want peace deal.
The representative of the movement Suhail Shaheen (Shaheen Suhail) said earlier an agreement with the United States to stop the fighting in Afghanistan. According to him, the Taliban and Washington is likely to sign a contract at the end of February.

The negotiations to end the war in Afghanistan, conducted from July 2018. In September 2019, the parties almost reached agreement, but the signing did not take place because of the actions of the Taliban — the organization has claimed responsibility for the attack, which led to the death of the American military. After that, trump called political process is dead, but the negotiations have continued to be the US representative for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad (Zalmay Khalilzad).
The Taliban was formed in 1994 in the midst of civil war in Afghanistan. In 1996-2001 the Taliban were in power in the country, and after the overthrow in 2001, began to conduct a guerrilla war with government troops and NATO forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan. U.S. troops entered Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks. Currently, the Taliban and the government are looking for ways to reach a political compromise.
