Turkish troops destroyed the convoy of Syrian government forces in the Eastern province of Idlib. This was reported by the Daily newspaper Sabah on Twitter.
Sources told the publication that it happened on the international highway M5. Details of the attack are given.
Earlier, on 28 February, Turkey launched a strike on Syria in response to shelling of its soldiers in Idlib. “With the support of our military air and on land were dealt a blow on positions of the regime [of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad], and we will continue to strike further,” — said the administration of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. There also urged the participants of the Astana process and the entire international community “to stop crimes against humanity.”
On 27 February it became known about the Russian-Syrian shelling of the Turkish military in the Jabal al-Zawiya. Later, the Governor of Hatay province Rahmi Dogan said that the attack killed at least 29 soldiers. According to another report, killed at least 30 Turkish soldiers.
