The U.S. Department of defense has suspended funding for several projects on the “containment of Russia” and invest the released money for the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico. This was reported by Bloomberg.
The Secretary of defense mark Esper will be redirected so about 545 million dollars. No funding will be in the number of overseas military infrastructure projects that were planned to implement in Norway, Germany, Spain and other European countries. They are part of the “European initiative of deterrence”, aimed at countering Russian influence.
Ministry spokesman Chris Sherwood said that the projects are not cancelled their funding frozen until 2021. However, to continue, the U.S. Congress will have to allocate additional funds.
The opposition criticizes the government of President Donald trump for the fact that the Pentagon has such powers: they have him because of the state of emergency, which the us leader introduced in 2019 in connection with the migration crisis.
