The Russian company “Gazprom” has asked the Polish competition authority (UOKiK) to explain another request for documents and information for investigation in respect of the pipeline “Nord stream-2”. About it writes TASS with reference to the report of the Russian holding.
In January 2020 UOKiK appealed to “Gazprom” with a request to provide data in an antitrust investigation. The Russian side on January 31 responded to the appeal. In early March, the Polish side once again sent a similar request to “Gazprom”. In Moscow on March 23, said Warsaw and asked to provide further justification for obtaining the requested information and documents.
The Polish competition authority had previously initiated an investigation against the Russian company and its European partners Engie, OMV, Royal Dutch Shell, Wintershall and Uniper. According to the results UOKiK was charged with violation of the Antimonopoly legislation. In Warsaw concluded that a Russian company without prior approval from UOKiK made a deal with these companies. The agreement from the point of view of the Polish side may restrict competition.
