Authorities in Novosibirsk region expect to provide all the settlements of the region, where more than 250 people, with Internet by the end of 2021. This was reported by TASS, the Minister of digital development and communication of the region Anatoly Dubanov.
“We are now fully confident that by the end of 2021, all settlements [a number] of 250 persons and above will have fiber to their settlements,” he said.
According to Gubanova, these works will be carried out in the framework of the regional program “500+”, which is implemented in the Novosibirsk region as a complement to the Federal initiative to eliminate the digital divide. She let 2016 to provide access to the Internet in 69 localities, not included in the Federal program. It is expected that in 2020, the regional program will allocate about 100 million roubles.
The Director of the Novosibirsk branch of the company “Rostelecom” Yury Kupriyanov said that the Novosibirsk region was one of the first Russian regions, which were prematurely implemented the Federal program “digital divide” national project “Digital economy”. According to him, access to the Internet has received about 96 thousand inhabitants in 279 settlements.
The national project “Digital economy” approved by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and should be completed by 2024. Only its implementation is planned to allocate more than 1.8 trillion rubles. In particular, it implies an increase of internal costs for the development of the digital economy at the expense of all sources, the creation of sustainable and secure information and telecommunications infrastructure for high speed transmission, processing and storage of large amounts of data, as well as the transfer of government agencies and organizations to use mainly software developed in Russia.
