The opening of the main temple of the Russian Armed forces was postponed indefinitely because of the situation with coronavirus. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to an informed source.

According to him, originally the main Church of the Ministry of defense was scheduled to open on may 6, but now the opening date “is moved to the right at a later time.” He said that a new date can be “linked” with the day on which you transfer the celebration of Victory Day. As a possible source of “Interfax” called June 24 and September 3.

Earlier it became known that the walls of the main temple of the Russian Armed forces will appear mosaic with the image of President Vladimir Putin, defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. The latter, according to the rector of the Church of the Bishop of Klin Stephen will appear in the fragment of the mosaic of victory in the great Patriotic war. The image of Putin and Shoigu will be part of a mosaic on the accession of Crimea to Russia.

The initiative of construction of the main temple of the Russian Armed forces belongs to Sergei Shoigu. The opening is planned for 2020 in the Military and Patriotic Park of culture and rest “Patriot” for the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war. Next to the Church will appear Museum and exhibition centre “the Spiritual army of Russia” exhibition devoted to the heroic history of the Russian army. With the help of virtual reality technology, visitors will be able to be in the middle of battle on the Ice or the Kerch naval battle.
