The state Duma adopted in the third reading a government bill to create a Federal registry containing information about the population of Russia. This was reported on the website of the lower house of Parliament on Thursday, may 21.
We are talking about the systematization of information contained in state and municipal information resources, including databases of extra-budgetary funds.
A single information resource will display the name of the citizen, date and place of birth, details of records of civil status act of birth and death, SNILS, INN, as well as data on marital status and relatives.
The authors of the document noted that the new resource will reduce the terms of rendering state and municipal services, and will contribute to combating crime and fraud in obtaining measures of social support and payment of taxes. The system operator selected the Federal tax service (FNS).
“The Federal operator of the information system protects information contained in Federal information system”, — stated in the explanatory Memorandum.
Earlier, the FSB criticized one of the versions of the draft law, pointing to the threat of information leaks, including the persons subject to state protection, judges, prosecutors, investigators and law enforcement officers.
