The Northern sea route (NSR) has promised the future of the international transport area. According to the plans of “Rosatom”, the year-round traffic along the NSR should be organized by 2030. This is stated in the message published on the website of the portal “the Future of Russia. National projects”.

“By 2035 we expect it will become a full-fledged international backbone and national transport corridor, the entrance to which will serve as [Murmansk oblast], and output — Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky”, — said the Director of Department of development of SMP and coastal territories of the state Corporation Maxim Kolinko.
