The Northern sea route (NSR) has promised the future of the international transport area. According to the plans of “Rosatom”, the year-round traffic along the NSR should be organized by 2030. This is stated in the message published on the website of the portal “the Future of Russia. National projects”.
“By 2035 we expect it will become a full-fledged international backbone and national transport corridor, the entrance to which will serve as [Murmansk oblast], and output — Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky”, — said the Director of Department of development of SMP and coastal territories of the state Corporation Maxim Kolinko.
Earlier it became known that the boundaries of the SMP can be expanded to include the waters from Murmansk to Sakhalin.
It is assumed that the extension of SMP only due to the ports and terminals of the Pechora, White and Barents seas can easily achieve set by the President of the Russian Federation the task of increasing traffic to 80 million tons.
Russia until the end of 2024 plans to implement 13 national projects: “Health”, “Education”, “Demography”, “Culture”, “Safe and quality roads”, “Housing and the urban environment”, “Ecology”, “Science”, “Small and medium entrepreneurship and support entrepreneurial initiative,” “labor Productivity and employment support, international cooperation and exports”, “Complex plan of modernization and expansion of trunk infrastructure”.
For their implementation it is planned to spend about 26 trillion rubles.
