The company “Russian ecological operator” (REO) is ready to consider investment projects on construction of waste incineration plants in the country for reducing the number of landfills. This was the Deputy head of the organization Alexei Makrushin said during an online broadcast posted on the YouTube channel of REO.
Makrushin said that the Federal scheme of municipal solid waste management involves the construction of five plants. In addition, it includes already existing facilities for thermal treatment of municipal solid wastes.
Earlier it was reported that in a Federal scheme of waste management will leave landfills, as fully to abandon the landfill will not work. The first draft scheme was approved at the end of April, the final version will be approved in the fall of 2020 after it agree with the regions of the country.
In January of 2019 in Russia was launched reform of the waste management sector, the objectives of which is to solve the problem of illegal landfills and reduce the amount of accumulated waste. Its main indicators are defined by the passport of the national project “Ecology”.
